The Facilities

Our beautiful Housekeeping Units include fully equipped kitchens, bed linens, restrooms stocked with bath tissue and soap, plus your own picnic table, outdoor grill, and private deck. For families with small children we have high chairs, cribs, and babysitting service also available, at your option. You and your kids will love the children's playground and heated outdoor pool.

All our units are available from May 15 through October 31. Select units are available year round. We welcome your family, church or organization to join us during the winter months for special meetings, retreats or reunions. Enjoy off season activities like cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, hiking, or just take in the sparkling beauty of a Michigan winter.

 

 
 

The Setting

The Sunset Bluff Resort takes its name from its exquisite setting on a wooded bluff overlooking quiet Upper Hamlin Lake. Some of the most spectacular sunsets you'll ever experience are waiting for you on our forty shoreline acres, affording you all the beauty, space and privacy you long for.

Adjacent to the resort is Victory Park, with picnic areas and great hiking trails. Across the lake, on the northern shore of Hamlin Lake, the majestic Manistee National Forest presents a breathtaking view. We're surrounded by nature at its best, offering you endless opportunities for healthy fun and relaxation. 

The Fishing!

It's no secret that anglers love Hamlin Lake. The fish are here - come test your skills. With the right lure you may take a Tiger Muskie, Walleye, Northern Pike, Bass or one of the many varieties of pan fish from Hamlin Lake, a 3800 acre fishing paradise. A short drive will take you to the Pere Marquette River or the Lake Michigan shore where you can fish for Trout, Coho or Chinook Salmon.

A private road brings you dockside, where our boathouse is stocked with a freezer and modern fish cleaning facilities for your convenience.
   

 We also have the following optional rentals available:

  • 14 ft. fishing boats, $100 per week, or $30 per day
  • 8 hp motors, $200 per week, or $40 per day
  • 20' / 24' ft pontoon boat, $250 per day, or $35 per hour (2 hour minimum), $800 per wk
  • Canoes, $6/hour
  • Private dock space for non-rental boats, $35 per week
  • NEW!! Canoe trips 2-3 hours, $20
  • Kayaks, Canoes, Paddle Boats $6/hour

Go canoeing on Pere Marquette River, visit Historic White Pine Village, attend weekly band concerts in neighboring villages, check out local antique and craft shops.
